Miami ink

Does the creativity of the TV producers know no bounds? This is one of the shows that caught my attention as I was channel surfing. This show was originally aired on TLC and shown here via Discovery Travel and Living channel. The group comprises of tattoo artist Ami James,Chris Nunez,Chris Garver,Darren Brass,Kat Von D and Yoji Harada and each episode comprises of extracts of their personal and professional lives as they work as tattoo artists. The show also focuses on their customers and their tattoo's.The creation process of each tattoo is highlighted and this then allows the viewers to see how tattoo are sketched, placed and incorporated unto the individuals body.
Now the fact that this shown is a mixture of drama and reality is not new as there are other shown most notably American Chopper and The Simple Life which come to mind. However, I have to say that this is one shown that has caught my attention right from the beginning and it has made me a faithful follower of the show.Anyway this shown has entered it's second season and hopefully it has manage to maintain it appeal.
If all TV shows had such appeal..

The world that we live in.

Oh come and see,
Where time stood still,
Where beauty lies,
Created by His will.
Where nature blossoms,
And animals meet,
Shouldn't this be a secret,
We all should keep?
But lo behold,
Due to greed and pride,
We plunder the land,
Leaving nothing behind.
But hope still lies,
If we change our ways,
So that our children,
May admire nature's ways.

This is too funny not to blog about...

Yesterday, while I was in class,Kay Jin and I heard something that was funny and wacky at the same time. The fact that it was so random makes it even more comical.Anyway it when like this:

After the usual half and hour break, the lecturer commented about about some student leaving his lecture manual at the front of her desk.

Lecturer: 'Now I have notice that a certain student by the name of X has left his lecture manual in front of my desk. There are many interesting comments on his manual.'
She says and I quote:

' Boring ,boring ,boring'.
'Hungry,hungry,hungry'
'Kfc,Pizza Hut,Nandos'
'Yummy,yummy.yummy'

'Now I an certain that Mr X will be a lawyer of sterling quality.'

Haha.As you have probably guessed, the dude was nowhere to be seen.He was probably hiding himself very well at that moment or was miles away from class. I reckon that he did that on purpose in order to express his frustration.Man, thanks to him, I gonna have to come up with a more creative way to "express my frustration."

Now I know why people make fun of lawyers.Haha.

Well it's been a week.

Yeah it has been a week since this blog has been in existence. It sure feels longer than that. Must be all that legal rubbish I have been trying to memorised since this Feb.I think that you kinda lose track to the time when you study hard.Yup.
Anyway there are a few things that I would like to blog about. I do feel a bit conflicted on how to address this. Anyway, I had a reminder as to how unpredictable life is .Last week and the week before demonstrated that good and bad things coexist as the same time.I should put my trust in the Lord and have faith that he will guide these people through.

I would also like to point out that Tracy celebrated her birthday recently.Congrats to her,I hope that she had a good one.
Finally, last Saturday me and my cousin headed for Bukit Jalil stadium for the Good Charlotte concert. Now I would like to mention that people have advised me that if I went for it, I would be the only "old person" in the crowd.I am pleased to announced that this didn't happen as my cousin who is older than me beat me to that. I am not going to mention numbers here lest I end up dead in a ditch somewhere. However, I did notice that something like 80% of the crowd were teenagers. There were a few young adults and middle age people but rest assured it look and felt like a high school festival. At first my cousin and I didn't really take notice of this, but later it got to her.Don't worry,I think you and I were cool enough so that counts.Haha.

Anyway we made our way to Kl Sentral and from there we boarded the Star LRt to Bukit Jalil. We reached the place about closed to 18.00 and by then there was a q of people already waiting to get it.So we patiently await our turn, holding the tickets and finally about 18.50 we manage to get in.
The said concert started about 20.00 with opening acts by One Buckshot,Estranged and Lo. Man I have to say this, the local bands were good, especially Estranged and Lo. I mean maybe it was the sound system or something but I am certain the crowd was eating into all that the played. Estranged played the hit single, where else Lo played the radio hits such as "Old Newspaper and Evening News".With such good performances, maybe people will change their perception and local bands will receive the support that they need.
So this went on till 22.00 and at 22.20 , Good Charlotte started jamming. Now for a band which is reputed to attract teenagers, it sure doesn't feel like and look like a kiddie band.

True, there aren't obvious explicit language so this may mean that they would attract a younger age group. I did a little research and it seem that this band is classified under the genre of pop punk.

Comprising of band members-Joel and Benji Madden,Billy Martin,Paul Thomas and Dean Butterworth, they have been around since 1996.That's 11 years in the business, sweet.

They played their hits single such as "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous," "The Anthem," and "Girls and Boys" among other songs. My cousin and I didn't want to stay till then end because we anticipated that there would be an issue in regards to getting a place in the LRT once the concert was over. So we bailed out early, and headed home.

So I would say that while I am not a Good Charlotte fan, this concert was good as it performance was top notch and there were no technical problems. The songs reminded me of my life back in 2002 and how much things have change since then. A good reminder of the past.

Till the next post.

Jokes

Now I am just too lazy at the moment to blog so i am gonna leave you with a bunch of lawyer jokes. Enjoy.

1.Do you know how to save a drowning lawyer?Take your foot off his head.

2.A man went to a brain store to get some brain to complete a study. He sees a sign remarking on the quality of professional brain offerred at this particular brain store. He begins to question the butcher about the cost of these brains."How much does it cost for engineer brain?""Three dollars an ounce.""How much does it cost for programmer brain?""Four dollars an ounce.""How much for lawyer brain?""$1,000 an ounce.""Why is lawyer brain so much more?""Do you know how many lawyers we had to kill to get one ounce of brain?"

3.Q: What's wrong with Lawyer jokes?
A: Lawyers don't think they're funny, and nobody else thinks they're jokes.

4.
Satan was complaining bitterly to God:
"You made the world so that it was not fair, and you made it so that most people would have to struggle every day, fight against their innate wishes and desires, and deal with all sorts of losses, grief, disasters, and catastrophes. Yet people worship and adore you. People fight, get arrested, and cheat each other, and I get blamed, even when it is not my fault. Sure, I'm not perfect, but give me a break. Can't you do something to make them stop blaming me?"
And so God created lawyers.

5.Three people arrive at the gates of heaven and St. Peter greeted them. "Welcome to Heaven. We have simplified the process of admission, and all you need to do to get into Heaven is pass a simple test. Are you ready?"
The first person said, "I've prepared for this moment for 73 years."
"Okay," said St. Peter, "spell 'God'."
"G-O-D."
"Very good, enter your eternal reward."
"That was easier than I thought it would be," the second person said, "I'll take my test now."
"Okay," said St. Peter, "spell 'love'."
"L-O-V-E."
"Excellent, enter your eternal reward."
The third person, a lawyer, said, "Boy, is this is gonna be a snap. Give me my test."
"Okay," said St. Peter, "spell 'prorhipidoglossomorpha'

Hahaha.

A confession/ funny exprience

I have a confession to make.I should be somewhere else at this point in time but my fickle mind decides that it is best for me to stay put and get on with what I have to do. Now I am not sure whether this includes blogging but it sure addictive at the moment.

Anyway, not to long ago, I had an encounter with a friend of mine which resulted in a barrage of wisea@@ comments. It when something like this:-

I was standing in front of a stall selling siew pau and cakes at a coffee shop. This dude, whom I shall name X comes up with his GF who I shall name Y.

X: Hei John, admiring the siew pau?
Me:No lah, just standing around waiting for a friend to buy something. But if you would be so kind, could you buy me one?
X:Haha, I am not a charitable organisation.
Me: :-)

Anyway, as I enter the lift to head back to class, X and Y also enters the lift. For fun and laughter, X dangles a freshly baked siew pau that he bought from the aunty in front of me.

Me(Saying jokingly):You know, if Y wasn't here things would be a bit different..
X: Yeah, who knows you could have started it and I would finish it.

Me:!!!! Arggh!!!!

X:1
John:0

This ain't the end of it,X there will be more encounters and I SHALL PREVAIL>MUahhaha.

Oh no...

Oh no, not another shooting again. Dear god, all this madness. Why do all this things happen..
Why did god allow all this to happen? For those who are not aware, there was a shooting incident involving a student at a university which resulted in 32 people dead. There have been other high profile shootings before most notably the incident which people and the media dub the "Columbine School Massacre" , the shooting at the Amish community in Pennsylvania and the shooting in Canada quite recently.

If you notice, the majority of these incidents involve students and occur in institution of higher learning or public schools. Now we can argue about the US gun laws but that's another story for another time. At this moment, I would like to point out that the involvement of juveniles/young adults cannot be denied. It could be argued that while any individual given the correct circumstances would resolve to doing this act,it would seem that the involvement of these particular age group would seem the most prevalent.Does this mean that juveniles/young people and firearms don't mix? Should the government take notice of this particular factor in addressing this matter?

I would like to think that the solution lies in the preventing the situation from happening, but if this is the case it would result in another round of argument and debate. How should the government address this matter in the light of adopting preventive measures? Should the government identify "potential" offenders by having a monitoring system implanted at these institutions? But this would mean stereotyping not to mention a violation of civil rights, eg right to privacy. On the other hand, the government could look at it's gun laws in the first place eg guns in the first place. However this would also mean dealing with legal matter most notably the First Amendment and commercial issue as the firearms business has become an important industry per se.

Whoah, it ain't easy making the decisions. It would seem easy but taking into account of all these matters and a whole lot more, it is certain that a lot of consideration is needed. Dang.

Anyway, I realised so far that most of my posts are of serious nature.I wanna balance this with more humorous and light hearted issues. Looking forward to this.

Signing out.

Waking up early...

Now since I have committed myself to studies, I have discovered that I am unable to do a few things. One of these would be the ability to wake up on time.Somehow, no matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to get myself to wake up at a particular designated time.Supposedly I am planning to wake up at 08.00, I would then wake up at 10.00.Any ideas on how to solve this?Maybe I just sleep too late...Maybe the solution lies me having a committed sleeping time....
I need more time to do more things...

Anyhow, another issue which I notice is balancing life with studies. It not that I didn't have this problem before, it is just that I am doing a lot more things this year compared to last year.It is not that I am complaining or anything life is sure more meaningful and fun compared to last year. Thanks to you all for making this happen.

The last issue would the the amount and the intensity of the workload that I have to cover.Which I would considered this issue manageable, it ain't taking away the fact that there is so much to do and read that I might just manage to short circuit my brain once this is over. Going postal does seem possible eh? Haha.

Anyway, that pretty much what I got on my mind right now.

Later.

Yeah these are a few pics that I have manage to upload so far. Couldn't upload too many due to space constrain. ;-)

My first entry!!

This is it, I have finally convinced myself that I should do this and without constant pestering from my peeps this post would not have materialised. I would like to extend my gratitude to these people for making me realised the importance of keeping an online record of what I will and have been doing all this time.Maybe with some luck and plenty of publicity, some scout from a publishing house would "stumble" on this page and would award me with a big fat publishing contract.Maybe...

Anyhow the process of setting up this blog wasn't so straightforward as I thought it would be. In fact this is how it happen...

  1. First, I had to set up a Google e-mail account.Being a sole longtime user of another e-mail account provider, the sense of reluctant in setting up another crop up.
  2. Then came all the editing eg naming your blog page.
  3. This was followed by adjusting the settings where among others I had to choose the level of access by other user both from and out of blogspot, the level of comments that can appear on the page and the adjustments to the archive frequency.
  4. The blog has been created.
  5. Then comes the posting which arguably takes up the chunk of the process.
  6. Now I was going to post some pics which I painstakingly took but due to some technical problems, the process of uploading my pics to the com just didn't happen.I'm furious when things don't work for no particular reason. It just greatly annoys me.Anyway I hope to get this pics post up sometime soon.
  7. Right with that I have my first proper entry.

Yeah man.I hope this will be a beginning of a long line of entry that will make a difference.Somewhere down the line, my kids would be able to say "Daddy is so cool" Opsss ;-0.Anyway time to log out, got to get back to study.... :-)
